Welcome all parents to WIEO.org! Most likely, one of your concerns is that your daughter or daughters receive a well-rounded education. Sometimes, in addition to school, it's a good idea to involve your children in other educational activities. WIEO.org! is the place to find such educational activities.

Engineering programs are being run throughout the country to get more girls interested in the field. Use WIEO to Find Programs in Your Area. First, however, you might want to learn more about what engineers do and how much fun they can have doing their job. What is Engineering, located in the upper menu bar, will get you acquainted with the field. Find out how you can Get Involved in getting girls more interested in engineering and learn about Contests / Challenges that are running throughout the country and how to get your daughters involved. Also, for those of you whose daughters are starting the college process, browse through the section on Scholarships.

Get on-line with other parents to discuss issues or ask questions on the Discussion Board and please feel free to visit the discussion boards of other groups like girls or K-12 teachers to pose questions to or find out information from them. Don't forget to browse through the Reading Room for books or articles to help get you acquainted with the world of engineering, what your daughters can expect from entering into the field, as well as books on gender issues.

WIEO has also provided a list of helpful Links as well as a section on Games that will show your daughters how much fun being an engineer can be and perhaps provide you with a few hours of amusement. If the above is not enough to convince you why engineering is a good choice for your daughters, find out more in Why Choose Engineering in the upper menu bar.
