Welcome all K-12 Teachers to WIEO.org! Having some knowledge of engineering is becoming increasingly important in order to broaden your students' horizons and to shape their interests. Review the Massachusetts Technology / Engineering Frameworks, the first state to adopt engineering into the K-12 curriculum, as your state may be the next to take this progressive step. Become more acquainted with engineering in general in What is Engineering, located in the upper menu bar and make sure to browse through the Reading Room to familiarize yourself with engineering, as well as books or articles on projects and gender issues in this field.

The Lesson Plans section offers some great ideas for implementing engineering into your classroom, and don't forget to check out the Games for some on-line fun for both you and your students. WIEO also offers a list of Contests / Challenges, that run throughout the country, which some of your students, or your class as a whole, may be interested in taking part in. Click on Find Programs in Your Area to search for programs geared toward K-12 teachers, or change the search to look for programs for your students.

The Discussion Board is a great place for you to exchange ideas with and ask questions of your colleagues across the country, and please feel free to visit the discussion boards of other groups like girls or parents to pose questions to or find out information from them. Also, don't forget to check out some of the general Links. Lastly, if the above doesn't convince you on why engineering should be pursued by either you or your students, check out the section on Why Choose Engineering, located in the upper menu bar.
